The Mount Auburn Cambridge Independent Practice Association, Inc. (MACIPA) is an organization developed by its physicians to enable them to deliver high quality patient care in a demanding managed care environment. The MACIPA membership is made up of approximately 500 physicians on staff at Mount Auburn Hospital and The Cambridge Health Alliance (Cambridge Hospital and Somerville Hospital).

Founded in 1985, MACIPA provides a wide range of services to its members to ensure their success in managed care contracts. Services include case management at Mount Auburn Hospital for all patients, discharge planning, pharmacy management, data and reporting, contracting, referral management, community case management, utilization review, and information services.
